Now here's a REAL question... Is there anywhere that offers women-cut leathers,
high-heel steel-toed boots (since Doc Martin isn't making them anymore)
and coveralls and work clothes cut for big hips?

Oh- and a little past the wrench....
but welding helmets / shields cut for women. You know without a neck that's three inches too high.

heres a question. why does my 95 escort gt sometimes spit out some coolant from the overflow on the resevoir (what ever) not all the time just sometimes.?. i keep an eye on the level and its good.. and the radiator isnt low and all the hoses are good and the temp gauge stays with in low range. even when i drive in the country and knock out the cobwebs. i live in the city and dont get alot of chance to drive over 40 mph or so.. ive also have been fighting with the dang exhaust.. if i was flat and had really short arms i could just slide under the car and not have to go through all the jacking up and ramps and what not.. i seem to be very sensitive to car sounds.. my ex husband always just told me to turn up the radio.. that was ok when i was married because he would and could fix the car. but now i have to do it my self. not that i cant.. i grew up in the 70's with a drag racing sister and of course all the guys and their cars.. if i could remember everything i was told or showed or read about cars i would have it made.. my dad was a mechanic and he was hard of hearing so sometimes he would have us describe what sounds an engine made.. hmmmmmm.. im running on arent i.. well any help would be greatly appriciated..

Looking for female mechanic for new TV show on Spike TV

I'm a casting director with Bullrun, a new TV show for Spike TV, which is based on the auto rally of the same name. I'm looking for people (but especially women and brother/sister, sister/sister teams) who are interested in participating in the televised version of Bullrun. The show will feature 13 teams of 2 people each, rallying in their cars from Vancouver to Los Angeles for two weeks in mid- to late-October. All expenses are paid and there's a big cash prize at the end.

I am particularly looking for young women who KNOW CARS and have a car they've worked on that they would be willing to race. They must be in teams of 2 in a car that one of them owns. The drivers should be US citizens or legal US residents, and be 21 years of age or older. They should have a passion for their car, know someone who could be a co-pilot, and have a good driving record. Photos are encouraged!!

Please call me ASAP! We are in our FINAL WEEK OF CASTING. Photos are encouraged.

Sincerely,

help with a yamaha moped

Hi all,

I've looked all over Tribe & a few MSN searches for a moped mechanics board and couldn't find any. If anyone could help I would REALLY appriciate it.

I have an old 83 Yamaha mope that does run and runs great when it runs. I took it to a motocyle shop and they changed & cleaned the basics. Afterwards it ran a lot better but I'm still having a problem.

Yesterday I rode it for about 45 mins (stop & go). Than it started to die out.

It turns on I get ready to go and than it dies out.
I try again, same thing.
I let it sit a few minutes and than try, it does it again.

Than I let it sit for 3 hours and got it started. Went to the store and than it did it again when I was ready to leave.

Got home / Next day
Same thing.

Any ideas?

(hoping / praying)

Hi Ladies,

We're excited to announce that we are having our first Borg2 fundraiser next weekend to help raise money for art projects. (see tribe listing)

I am looking for a few additional volunteers to help collect money at the door to rotate between Pouneh, Simone and Harriet. We are charging $10-$20 sliding scale fee at the door + have encouraged folks to bring their spare change for the art installation.

Please ping me if interseted and can commit to a couple of hours btw. 9-2 saturday, Feb 5th at the Shipyard. This will be a very fun event!

Hi ladies- please, please, please... keep an eye out for my truck, in the southern and bayshore areas of SF... or whrever else vehicles may be recovered that are stolen from my gentrified whitey-tightie side of Potrero Hill.

I have a "Listing" posted, that describes my baby in detail. This, plus my bike, both in the same year, too goddamn much. The bike I made into my baby myself, whereas the truck, I just paid a hellofalot for, and really don't want to have to continue paying-on if in the hands of some asshole wanker theif monger.

BTW: thanks, Scottie, for posting the Ducutty as the tribe's main-pic. First thing that made me smile after blowing my shit at the not-caring cops who were so inconvenienced from their leisurely afternoon at Farleys, by taking down my report earlier today.

Last night I actually finished my album-dealie of me and Barbara's adventure with the Ducutty, and it should be published by tomorrow.

If I could get to my computer more than once every 2 weeks I would have posted this in time FOR EVERYONE TO TUNE IN!!
Congratulations to Kiki, Rebecca and Wendy for their awesome display of WENCH POWER on Junkyard Wars!!!! Did anyone else check this out? They completely stamped out the firemen, made the tuff guys of "Team Anarchy" tremble in their boots, and homeskoold the farm boys real good. The farm boys did end up winning by one measley point, but I'm sure they were sweating like hogs in an Alabama heat wave.
Maybe we should have a Wrench Wenches video night for those who missed it. We could paint eachother's nails (to hide the dirt, of course!) and celebrate all that is wenchy!

I'm not going to say on this public forum how well our team did on The Great Race, but I'll say this: the assistant director told us that we did *faaaar* better than ANY all-female crew on Junkyard Wars, ever!

Which, quite frankly, I personally find to be *shameful*!!

Why don't women do well on the show?? We need more women to kick ass and take names!!! Who's next??

Kiki

PS I'll post more later on the Junkyard Wars tribe. Give me a few days, though...

It's called Dorris and it's in Hayward. It is awesome and huge! The ground is cement so you don't have to go wading through puddles and dog crap. It's totally organized into sections. They have rims sorted by size and make. You can get a lot of parts already pulled. And their prices rock! I got a brand new radiator (still has the radiator shop's sticker on it), 2 wheels with brand new tires on them, 4 rims without tires, and an air cleaner pan for $100. They charged me $45 for the radiator!! Leave it to a woman to do it right....

Introduce yourself! Why are you here?

As for myself, I started welding about 10 years ago and metal fabrication has been my bread and butter for the past 9. I also worked as a machinist for a few years and a Metal Fabrication Technology instructor for 2 years. I love building things! I also do a bit of car mechanics. I race enduro, which is full-contact stock car racing, so I'm always having to fix stuff. I would be so thrilled to show up at the track with an all women pit crew! That would kick ass!
I'd also love to learn electrical... that's still spooky to me.
