Hi all,
I've looked all over Tribe & a few MSN searches for a moped mechanics board and couldn't find any. If anyone could help I would REALLY appriciate it.
I have an old 83 Yamaha mope that does run and runs great when it runs. I took it to a motocyle shop and they changed & cleaned the basics. Afterwards it ran a lot better but I'm still having a problem.
Yesterday I rode it for about 45 mins (stop & go). Than it started to die out.
It turns on I get ready to go and than it dies out.
I try again, same thing.
I let it sit a few minutes and than try, it does it again.
Than I let it sit for 3 hours and got it started. Went to the store and than it did it again when I was ready to leave.
Got home / Next day
Same thing.
Any ideas?

Re: help with a yamaha moped
Wed, April 20, 2005 - 10:53 PMHey,
Start with the basics:
Fuel or fire.
It sounds like your are getting fire (spark) so check the fuel.
Maybe it is flooding out?
Some old car carb. floats crack under heat and fill up, thus flooding the engine.
Please post what happens.
Good luck,
G
